THIS PAST MONTH, WONDERLAND MONTESSORI, IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE DALLAS MONTESSORI TEACHER EDUCATION PROGRAM, HOSTED THE SPRING MONESSORI WORKSHOP WITH KEY NOTE SPEAKER DR. STEVE HUGHES TO EDUCATE AND HIGHLIGHT THE STRENGTHS OF THE MONTESSORI EXPERIENCE.

DR HUGHES: "You see a very advanced sense of self, so there’s something deeper and broader about children coming from Montessori backgrounds."

Sandy Poon: "Nowadays, you see people now that you don’t think of who have had Montessori training – Beyonce and people like that – and you realize that they had it, and they’re successful, and you want your children to be that way."

SOT (DR HUGHES): "Part of what produces that is the breadth of experiences they have, the breadth of cognitive and social developmental experiences that Montessori offers."

AND IT’S THE GROWING NEUROLOGICAL RESEARCH ON BRAIN DEVELOPMENT THAT DR. HUGHES SAYS SUPPORTS THE PRINCIPLES THAT MONTESSORI IDENTIFIED MORE THAN 100 YEARS AGO

DR. HUGHES: "She got it right in things that we’re only now discovering. She was a remarkable human being. I could say that she is probably the greatest developmental genius in human history. It sounds grandiose but that is just so."

SUPRIYA GANAPATHI: "I was not trained Montessori way, but I would love my kids to be trained that way. I’m proud to be in this field to help kids because I love them, so I want the best for them."

DR HUGHES: "They have well developed self-regulatory capabilities, which are really important predictors of performance in life. I think one of the most important outcomes is that they aren’t tired of learning. They haven’t had an experience that has made them weary of school."

DR. HUGHES SAYS WHEN MONTESSORI IS DONE WELL, IT PRODUCES OPTIMAL OUTCOMES FOR CHILDREN ACROSS ALL BACKGROUNDS, AND ALL CULTURES, AND IN ALL LANGUAGES.
